Simon’ Social Media Journey

Simon has a passion for creating content that connects. In 2020, off his own back, Simon started creating cricket content on X (formerly twitter). He grew this platform organically over many years to get it to a point where “TheCricketMen” now boasts over 12,100 followers on X, 2500 on TikTok and over 600 on Instagram. Ready for more, in early 2026, Simon took the leap and started creating sports-based social media content on his personal channels. Now reaching over 180,000 accounts a month on TikTok and Instagram, Simon uses his social media platforms to showcase the presenting and announcing work which he completes. He is an eager, enthusiastic and energetic host who will turbocharge social media content.

Simon’s Journalism Journey

Having completed a history degree at the University of York in 2025 and graduated with a first-class honours, Simon has a passion for writing and delivering journalism which connects. As deputy sports editor of the student paper, Simon covered university sport and braodened the output of the paper in his final year at university - covering everything from Ultimate Frisbee to Women’s Football. Equally, Simon broadended his horizons into news journalism breaking exclusives on cuts to student welfare at his university. Simon regularly writes about cricket for his substack page and is ECB accredited for the 2026 season. He is a contributor to the Sale Sharks matchday programme - a role which he has enjoyed greatly.
